France Montgolfières a shared passion, from the ground to the sky
As a pioneer in hot-air ballooning in France, France Hot Air Ballons has grown based on a simple idea: to offer as many people as possible a unique experience, without ever compromising on service quality, rigour or safety. This hands-on approach is underpinned by teams with complementary skills — pilots, crew, bookings, logistics and maintenance — united by the same high standards. Preparations
After welcoming you, you leave your car at the meeting point and our teams then drive you to the take-off site. Once there, you can enjoy the impressive spectacle of the balloon preparations: assembling the basket and inflating the balloon. This is also the moment when we give you the safety instructions.
The flight
You are now on board… The pilot gently takes you up into the sky.
Carried by the wind, with no fixed route, let yourself drift along, brushing the treetops and reaching for the clouds, without the slightest feeling of vertigo.
This magical moment lasts around one hour. The spectacle unfolding before your eyes will remain forever etched in your memory.
Landing
During the flight, the pilot stays in contact with the ground crew, who will be there to welcome you on landing.
With your feet back on the ground but your head still in the clouds, you watch the balloon slowly deflate and bow one last time before you.
The Aeronauts’ Toast
Once the hot air balloon envelope has been packed away, you enjoy the traditional “Aeronauts’ Toast” while sharing your impressions with your fellow passengers.
A flight certificate is issued to each passenger.
Then everyone returns to the meeting point in our vehicles.
The flying season mainly runs from April to October – this is the best period for favorable weather conditions, early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the air is calm and stable.
In some regions, we fly all year round, and we invite you to check flight availability.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing with long sleeves and trousers, a pair of closed shoes (ideally walking shoes), a light windbreaker if you tend to feel cold easily, and something to cover your head to protect yourself from the heat of the burner.
The temperature in the air will be roughly the same as on the ground, but depending on the humidity and the time of day (morning or evening), it is advisable to bring an extra layer just in case.
